Learn To Be a Planner Like Me is the latest in our Learn To Series. This film was made for UWS Urban Management and Planning and developed from a brief which was to help the Association of Town Planners progress 'culture change' within their profession. They perceived their culture to be erring towards obstructive rather than facilitative in their dealings with developers and the general public in Council settings. The film is designed to illustrate attitudes and behaviours in an entertaining context to precipitate conversation and debate about appropriate practice. The film is a teaching tool for use in group sessions where the real learnings are facilitated in the conversations provoked by the story. Learn To be a Planner is suitable for groups of professionals in the workplace and also for students in Universities etc.
The first in the Learn To Series was Learn To Be a Lecturer Like Me made for Sydney University and this was followed by several Learn To short films for academic teacher training. |
Off the Rails is a training film produced for the Home Modifications Clearinghouse of UNSW by Inner West Media in association with O'Punksky's. We use what we term the 'Cleaseian Paradigm' to create a story which illustrates the potential pitfalls of a project or role. The film is then integrated within a facilitated learning programme. This brings humour to the learning experience and encourages the participants, learners and teachers, to share experience and develop appropriate skills and understanding. This film was used in the training of occupational therapists and home modification tradesmen.
