Frank Hardy, the faith healer, his wife Grace and his cockney manager Teddy, recall years of bucketing around Scotland, Wales and Ireland in a rusty old van which doubles as home and transport. They fetch up in draughty halls before the blind, the crippled and the mad. Frank's healing touch is not bogus but erratic. When his 'performance' as he calls it, works, he and the healed are joined in a mystic ecstasy of wholeness.
In a masterful piece of writing Friel slowly unravels his enthralling tale through the revelations of the three characters, each recalling their personal version of the same events which gradually fuse into a coherent, if impressionistic, picture.

O'Punksky's production of Faith Healer had three seasons. The first production opened at The Old Fitzroy Hotel in Sept 1998 and then transferred to the STC Wharf in 1999. A further season was presented at The Ensemble Theatre in May 2000.
