O’Punksky’s theatre is a company rich in creativity, resilience and resourcefulness.... but, like most small, independent companies working in the cultural sector we have very little in the bank and no funding stream. In spite of this we’ve been producing plays since 1990 and our passion won't allow us to be sensible and stop.
In 2012 we produced The Seafarer at the old Darlinghurst Theatre. Generous donations from friends, family and colleagues helped us get to opening night with the production costs covered. The Artists had to wait for their share of the 'box'.
In 2014 we produced The Gigli Concert at the new Eternity Playhouse. Philanthropic support was harder to find but we managed a lot with the little we were given.
Now, in 2017 we are looking forward to revisiting The Old Fitz in Woolloomooloo with another play by Conor McPherson... The Night Alive.
Making theatre is labour and time intensive. Any support you can give us is valued .
