O'Punksky's Theatre Company origins. http://instagram.com/p/hiaAogi-29/ O'Punksky's theatre was formed during our first production Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme at this wonderful and unique theatre venue in Forbes street, Darlinghurst, next door to SCEGS and across the road from the old ABC studios: The Crossroads Theatre. "The ineluctable modality of being” James Joyce. Jaime Robertson and John O'Hare two Ulstermen on the bridge in 'Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme' by Frank McGuinness. Jaime Robertson has a memorial service today at Blackburn Gardens, Double Bay.
Jaime is a founder member and shareholder of O'Punksky's Theatre. Jaime was also on the original board of directors. He was a Chieftain of the clan.. A distinguished actor with an unforgettable voice, his presence onstage was both elegant and graceful. He was engaging, powerful and the epitome of gravitas. Being onstage with Jaime Robertson was to be held in truth of his presence. May your God and ours bless you in heaven Jaime. Love from your old pals. O’Punksky’s family xx It is with deep sadness that we at O'Punksky's Theatre say goodbye to one if our finest actors and co creators Jaime Robertson.
Jaime was a true gentleman and friend we first met on the steps of the front door outside the Crossroads Theatre in Forbes St, Darlinghurst. (now a part of S.C.E.G.S). We auditioned together that day for Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme by Frank McGuinness directed by Maeliosa Stafford. Jaime and I read for Maeliosa and he cast us as scene partners - two young Protestant recruits from Ulster. We died together as Ulstermen going over the top for King and Country at dawn on the first day of the battle of the Somme. Today a part me has died as you go over the top alone on a new journey, I'm sure Amanda Shillabeer - pictured here in your arms - will be there to meet you. God bless and Chookas Jaime Robertson.
